Jim and Joan arrived in Tokyo on Saturday. We met them at the station and took them back to our house. After a short nap we went upstairs the roof where out landlord had laid on BBQ for all the residents. There was Hayashi-san, his wife and two sons, our Aussie neighbours, a friend of theirs and us. We had a great evening after many beers, wine and sake.
The next day we took Jim and Joan on walkabout. There was local fete going on in the parks near us and then we walked through Shibuya, Omotesando, Harajuku. We then went to the Meiji Jingu Shrine where there was some sort of dolls festival. Thousands of dolls were arranged around the shrine. Not sure why but pretty amazing to see.
